Are you kidding me?

We watch TV now and then, I admit to it.

I specifically always enjoy watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from New York.

They were running a lot of commercials from stores about Black Friday.

Black Friday, why it's called that is probably because it is a solemn time for mourning, because shoppers NOB make fools of themselves to the rest of the world.

They camp out in front of the stores waiting for the store to open at 3AM like the Ad that I copied off the net shows.

Hello....3AM?

So you can by a toaster or 300 count bed sheets for someone's Christmas present?

The rest of the world has to laugh at the mentality of this.

I know I do.

Can you imaging Sr Mendosa opening up his appliance store on the Libramiento in order to sell you that living room coffee table or toaster oven?

I don't think so.

3 AM?

Lots of other commercials I saw today were opening up at 5AM
Some waited until 6.

I know, I will get up at my usual time of about 7am , go to the bathroom, make a cup of coffee and then read the news on the computer of how many American Shoppers got trampled down at the opening for the after Thanksgiving sales.......

I hope it is worth it.................

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving Dinner.

I did, and I am not shopping tomorrow, or Saturday or Sunday.............

But 3AM, really?

PS: I was discussing with La Senora how nice it was that Saturdays were made to conduct business that you were unable to do during the week, i.e. shopping, run to the hardware store, etc....
And Sundays everything was closed. Everything I mean everything, if you didn't get your milk or potatoes on Saturday you went without, and somehow, everyone accepted and managed just fine.
Then it started...........Thursday nights they were open until 9.
It is nice to see lots of closed stores in Mexico. Kind of resets everything back to normal.

black Friday indeed, the entire consumerism madness got left at the border - and it is not missed.

If only the young knew how eventually useless so much of their craving desires will become. Oh, unless it is a new cell phone - or in my case Kindle

Even when I lived in The States I found the shopping behavior to be bizarre. But that is from someone who gave up buying Christmas gifts almost 30 years ago.

They should provide online videos of people shopping, to show how insane this shopping addiction is. Here in our little community they ran ads to inform the shoppers that "While Supplies Last" so they could fuel the madness even more.

Still live NOB and I think it is bazaar! I just cannot get into the Whoville mindset. I have a budget, a well thought out list and I rarely deviate from it. And because I am a contrarian, I purchase most of my gift giving before the Whoville season.

Now here is my rant; what's the deal with Christmas before Thanksgiving? I think part of what is wrong with US is we are no longer, as a nation, stop and count our blessings. I don't know what the statistics are, less than 1% I would bet, are truly homeless, cold, and hungry. My blood pressure is starting to go up so before I start foaming at the mouth I'll stop.

Hi Judy, thanks for stopping by to rant!
I know it is kind of crazy to have Christmas decorations up before Halloween even...but merchant yes men have followed someone into this ridiculous abyss.

Mexico is following also, although not as bad, but it is. check out my rant site of wacko on "This and That" you will find stuff that is unbelievable to sane folks like you and I...
It was nice growing up in the old days, there was no confusion with holidays and seasons, it was all well defined, no wonder the kids of today walk around in a fog most of their lives, they have been brainwashed into marketing lemmings and it also carries over in how they vote too....
( Sorry for the rant )

My dad said that if he woke up one morning and was in the midst of a packed shopping mall on Black Friday he'd know he had died and gone to hell. Think he's right.
