Life back to normal.....what's normal?

The people are gone, the streets are quiet, the workers are slowly taking down the awnings and associated framework that kept all the vendors dry during last weekends festivities.
Things are back to normal...........
The election up north is over, the people of the US have allowed the sitting president 4 more years of flying around, running the country the way he sees fit, running the country by borrowing money that future generations will be paying for......or perhaps not. I hope his golf game is improving since he seems to be playing more golf than Eisenhower did.

Not that there's anything wrong with playing golf.....The last year of his term has been a waste of time since all any of the politicians have done was to put everything on hold and campaign.

Quite frankly I am sick and tired of all the campaigning. There has to be a better way than to spend gazillions of dollars on advertising, spend oodles of time which should be devoted to running the country or state or city, and go kiss ugly babies while on the road.

The financial crisis is the big issue that no one is addressing other than ignoring it.

I was thinking of what would happen if the country simply said, "we finally admit we can't pay you back, we know that the dollar we print 24 hours a day is not worth the paper that it is printed on, we give up....."

I guess for some people the proverbial saying the "shit hits the fan" would be what would happen.

Maybe some of you remember the movie Airplane. I think it is one of the best comedies of our time right behind Blazing Saddles.

The movie Airplane had so many great scenes where common sayings and innuendos which kept surfacing that require that you watch the movie several times. That's where I first saw, shit hitting the fan........

Most of the audience in the theater missed the next several lines because of the laughter than followed that particular scene. If you have never seen the movie, rent it, it's a gem.

Anyway.....I wonder what possible scenarios there can be for the old US of A.  We all know it cannot continue the way it is going, we all know that at some point some unpreventable occurrence in the world is going to happen and tip the scales to what?
We can't keep sending our soldiers to fight for who knows what, in those garbage can countries and spending that kind of money so that they have democracy.....
Hell they have been happy living in a shithole for years, why make it our problem?

We have so many issues, energy, education, health care, on and on  that it is simply overwhelming.
But that discussion is for tomorrow or the next day.....might as well ignore it for another day.
Isn't that the way it's done?

But that's my opinion.......
