Driving back from Uruapan yesterday, the sky turned dark and it started to rain. When it rains here it's never the irritating type of rain where the wipers have to be on pause, since it's not enough to keep them going full time, but the irritating coating on the windshiled.
Any way, just as we took the off-ramp from the autopista, going towards are home, I just had to stop and take this picture.
Breathtaking.....on our side of the mountain it had not started raining yet, from the highway to the Los Tanques colonia it was raining so hard that on high speed it was difficult to see out the windshield.
Then just at the crest of the hill, it stopped, and I was able to pull over and quickly snap the picture.
Too bad the power lines are in the photo, if I had a little more time and didn't want to get caught in the rain I suppose I could have found a spot sans power lines.....
Just to lazy I suppose, and besides you get the picture anyway.
About a minute after we pulled up to our front door, it caught up with us, lightning, thunder and heavy downpour started. It lasted for about an hour and a half before the rain dimished. Although I could see flashes of lightning for another 2 hours or so, it was calm for the rest of the night.
This morning the sun was out bright and early, but a cloud cover has entered into the picture. Time to start the fireplaces, turn the stereo down to some low music, grab the book and attempt to read.....nap.....read.....nap for the rest of today.
Life is good......
