Rest, Relaxation and Friends.

The Pacific Coast of Mexico has been a draw for Gringos for years. Dating back to the early 20's when Acapulco was the magnet all the way through the 50's.

Then the newly constructed areas like Ixtapa and Nuevo Vallarta started to imerge.

On the sidelines there was always Mazatlan and Puero Vallarta and my favorite Zihuatanejo.

Meeting friends for vacation is sometimes interesting, especially when the friends want to pack in 30 days worth of fun and vacation into 10 days.

Fishing.
Shopping.
Diving.
Para-sailing.
Barhopping
Visits to the Jungle.
On and On and On.

Doesn't anyone just lay around and read anymore?

Now the places are filling up with more people for more spring breaks and Easter.

Sometimes I feel like I need a vacation.

One of the postive things is renewing all the gossip and fumbling for the check while going out to dinners.....

Maybe lobster tonight at a restaurant?

Myself, I am amused quite simply.

Hammock, lemonaid, reading glasses and solitude.....at least for awhile.

I do love the spectacular sunsets..........

Tancho- somewhere along the line I learned that people that supposedly "rest" from a hectic life - don't. Their vacations parallel their lives - frenetic!

Know a better way - well yes but relaxing takes practice - a lesson I have learned well.

Agree with Calypso. When friends come to visit me, I so am exhausted by the time they leave, I feel as though I need a another week of vacation - to REST.

At lease meeting friends at a "neutral" location makes it easier in the housework department also. Many years ago we hardly went out to eat and stuff, now when they visit us at our home more than half the meals are "local experiences" which make life simpler too.

That is why I never invite anyone to visit me.
