El Aniversario

It was a beautiful afternoon and Tancho was surrounded by some if his closest friends. In those days Tancho still have an regular income, so he sprung to treat his buddies to accommodations at ground zero.

Family and friends had come from the west coast, for many it was the first time to be on an island.

What was better is that only 30 suites were on the island and no telephones or television had any place on the property. If you ask Sherman in his wayback machine to dial in lots of years Harry Truman had this place to himself as his getaway, while he was the man in charge.

The island was off the coast of another island called Marathon. It's actually name was Little Torch Key, and what better place to share such a perfect event.

La Señora and Tancho had been there once before so we knew we just had to go back and share the experience.

It was worth it.

Tancho brought a White Coat Tuxedo for the occasion and LaSeñora was frocked in a flowing white gown, it could not have been more perfect.

Then at sunset the event transpired, that of joining our lives together witnesses by close friends and family.

This was not the first time for Tancho nor for La Señora, but this was the best and last time for us.
At least that was the plan.

We have been together for over 22 years and joined by vows for 12.

Today is the start of another year
Señora was 12 years younger than Tancho, so the age difference was quite interesting at our first meeting. Now it doesn't seem like very much.
La Señora has kept Tancho much younger in his attitude and life and hopefully will continue that for a few more seasons to come.

So today we will buzz down to a great restaurant down the road a spell, one that is covered by flowing fauna and lush vegetation we will have a nice afternoon and mark the start of more years to enjoy.

We have returned to our little island one time after our event and hopefully we will be able to one more time in the future.

We love the Florida Keys, especially Key West which is really a great destination filled with super weather, sights, sounds and people.

If there was any other spot that I would enjoy living, it would be Key West. My only hesitation is the traveling hassle factor. We had none in those days, now it's disparaging how unpleasant travel can be... but we must look on the bright side of things.

So, off the keyboard, onto the rest of the day to enjoy La Señora for another day!

Congratulations! 13.5 years difference here. I thought 26 - the better memory woman reminds me it is 27 oops! OK a long time - all good with more to come for us both.

Thanks!
Funny you mention that Calypso, first one was had one year apart, after 18 years it didn't work out, but it seems that this gap does. You, Felipe, me, all about the same gap and working!

Thank you one and all, we had a great day today, drove down to one of our favorite restaurants in Ziracuarétiro, had a nice lunch in 82 degree weather, no humidity, then returned after fighting with 3 ATM machines trying to extract some cash.
Maybe one of these days I will describe in detail our wedding preparations on that day....it is a story worth writing.....

Congratulations to you both! You are both very lucky people...but I would like to know where the "wayback machine" was since I would like to see a picture of that special day!

Paul and I had a 4 month courtship and are on our 14th year of wedded bliss - I am 9 years his junior, so we'll probably never catch up to you two, dang.

Come back over here sometime soon, ok? I'll buy a bottle of champagne for a toast.

congratulations to you and the senora.

my 26 year old son is dating an 18 year old girl. the age difference seems to be a lot at that age because people still have a lot of growing up to do when they're 18, but i wish them the best.

I am proud to say that we were there on that day. We remember it fondly. It sparked a love affair with the Florida Keys for us also. The accommodations were spectacular, an island paradise. The event couldn't have been more perfect - a beautiful sunset on the beach for the ceremony. Feliz Aniversario to Tancho and La Senora - I can't believe it was that many years ago! BTW, 31 years for us...

Happy Annversary! You are a lovely couple.

Now, what did you have to eat at the restaurant in Ziracuaretiro? How would you rate it for food, service, ambience?

Sr. Cuevas, since you already have devoted several pages and descriptions to this place I will not dilute your eloquent review of the place.

For someone who has not read your review, which could be found at:

http://mexkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/03/la-mesa-de-blanca.html

Sr, Cuevas, we returned to the Mesa de Blanca, which you turned us on to! We ordered again the Marinated Pigs Feet as an appetizer, since we enjoyed it in our visit before, I had the fresh trout prepared with butter and garlic and Marlin had the Mixed Grill which had delicious chunks of goat and lamb meat in a savory sauce. Her meat pieces were moist and plentiful. We split a flan, again something which we had ordered before. The service as was before was attentive without being hoveringly annoying, the reason we went there was because we loved the ambiance of the location, the beautiful landscaping and vegetation of the place truly makes it an attractive pause in a otherwise normal day. Combine that with the electrifying mood of other people having their parties and celebrations at this perfectly designed venue and you will have a difficult time not enjoying the experience of the place!

Congratulations! I feel happy being around two people that have learned to take life as it comes and get the most out of it. Let me know when you want to go to Key West. May I suggest we all go together during the Papa Hemingway Festival and we can see how close I can come to winning.

See you soon, Wm
